I was just a few years ago that it was in Aug. The people who run the fair grounds had this big idea to move it to June so that they could get better singers for a cheaper price and better rides. Then they started making you pay to see the singing if you sat in the grandstand. I also heard they want to move it back to Aug. but they have to wait until the contract is up with the JH Drew so that they can move it back to Aug.
